Did this post get Kinja’d?
I could have sworn there was a video and a good discussion about driver courtesy. All I see now is Alfa Romeo porn, unless I use old
permalinks
.

I don’t recall seeing anything in the video that you should really be embarrassed about. Though I might have made different decisions in some of the clips, I appreciate your attentiveness as a driver. Trying to find the right balance between asserting your own right-of-way and being courteous to others is something that I consider to be an advanced technique. There are just too many different situations on the road to treat them all alike.
I won’t claim to be an expert, despite logging thousands of hours behind the wheel. I still encounter new, awkward situations that make me hesitate. And things can vary from state to state, which is always an interesting thing to learn about. Your post a few weeks ago about the funeral procession really made me think, because we just don’t see police escorts like that around here.
Dashcam videos are some of my favorite Oppo posts because they often generate some really good, thoughtful discussions. If only all drivers, young and old, were willing to analyze their own driving instead of just focusing on the destination.

I appreciate your appreciation. I’ve got one last Bad Drivers of Omaha video in the works, comprised mostly of old never before seen clips. I’ll “drop” that next week.
